A brother of the Brothers of the Holy Family community was accused of two crimes of “grooming or cyberbullying in a real reiteration regime”, reported Underlined and confirmed The Observer.
The accused, 71 years old, lived since 2018 in the community, in the Aguada neighborhood, and was hospitalized in the infirmary due to the diabetes he suffers. In a statement signed by the provincial of the community, Edgardo Bruzzoni, it is stated that he “had no no link with the educational community”. The brothers are religious but they are not priests: they cannot celebrate the Eucharist.
The brother was in charge of accounting for the community, but function was removed. The community remained at the disposal of the Justice to collaborate with the investigation.
The statement expresses its “pain and empathy” for the victims and their families, clarifying that they are outside the communitywhile rejecting what happened and expressing a commitment to work on the prevention and detection of those crimes that occur in their centers.
