Regional governor of Huancavelica calls for protests to be peaceful

Approached by the press, the new regional governor of Huancavelica, Leoncio Huayllani Taype, responded about the protests that have been announced since January 4.

“We are going to prioritize the start, the installation and above all, give the continuity of all the programs, the projects that are taken into account, what should not stop is the provision of services in health, education, and in the different sectors, We are going to prioritize the time so that we must and install the regional headquarters”, affirmed Huayllani Taype.

He added: “Protests are the right of the population, they seek vindication, we urge that they can protest peacefully without damaging public or private property, we call for them to be able to demonstrate peacefully.”

He did not rule out dialogue with the national authorities in order to obtain budgets.

On the other hand, regarding the situation of poverty and extreme poverty, the regional governor referred to the fact that

“We Huancavelicas have always sought the vindication of the Huancavelica people, in the face of abandonment and backwardness, they have the right to demand that justice be done, that Peru has a social debt with Huancavelica, you know that we have presented the regional demand of Huancavelica for the development, Huayllani said.
