On the one hand, a new government with a prolonged “honeymoon” in public opinion and catapulted –unexpectedly– by a pandemic that by then managed to surf against the global tide; from the other, one opposition that was inaugurated in its inauguration after 15 uninterrupted years of mandate and that was unable to make a dent in an armored ruling party due to its relative success in health. It was October 2020 and, swept up by the push of the PIT-CNT and social organizations, the Broad Front confirmed its support for a referendum against the Law of Urgent Consideration (LUC).
