Former Colombian soccer player Freddy Rincón is fighting for his life at the Imbanaco Clinic in the city of Cali, after suffering a spectacular car accident in Sultana del Valle.
The truck in which he was traveling at night along a street in the capital of Valle del Cauca collided with a feeder bus from Mío, the city’s mass transportation system.
Several injured, including the bus driver and Rincón the most affected.
The former player of the Colombian National Team remains in the Intensive Care Unit of the aforementioned healthcare center under a reserved prognosis and in critical condition.
A head injury, the diagnosis after arriving at the clinic where surgery was performed a few minutes later. At about 6 in the morning on Tuesday, April 12, a third medical report was given on his health status in which no news was reported.

For this difficult moment, ‘El Coloso de Buenaventura’ has received the support of his family, his former teammates and friends from the National Team, his fans, the Colombian people and those clubs in which he played during his long football career. Although his time at Madrid was not successful, he played 21 games (13 as a starter and only 4 for 90 minutes). There were 14 appearances in the League, 1 in the Copa del Rey, 2 in the Spanish Super Cup and 4 in the Champions League. He scored 1 goal. His technicians were the Argentine Jorge Valdano and the Spanish Arsenio Iglesias. His season was not good and in the middle of 1996 he returned to Brazil to play for Palmeiras.
