Petrobras issued a note this afternoon informing that 13 more workers were injured after the fire on the PCH-1 platform (Cherne 1), in the Campos Basin, about 130 kilometers from the coast of Macaé, in Rio de Janeiro.

According to the General Coordinator of the North Fluminense Oil Union (Sindipetro-NF) and director of the Single Petrolers Federation (FUP), Sergio Borges Cordeiro, 176 workers were aboard the platform.
“Gas flow was interrupted, the platform’s communications fell and emergency vessels were fired. Sindipetro-NF follows the case and charges urgent measures,” wrote Cordeiro on social networks.
Petrobras reported that other people on the platform are well and that “a commission will be formed to investigate the causes of the incident.”
