As part of the welcome ceremony, 21 cannon shots were fired and the national anthems of the Dominican Republic and Colombia were performed, as well as the review of the platoon of the first Presidential Guard regiment commanded by Brigadier General Guillermo Caro Cruz.

After the welcoming ceremony, the leaders met privately in the presidential office and later moved to the Governing Council room for an extended meeting with the participation of the delegations. This afternoon there will be a joint statement and the Colombian president will be decorated with the order of Duarte Sánchez and Mella, Cruz Plata.

President Abinader will be decorated by President Duque.
