Raúl Castillo, dog trainer: “The nature of the dog can be controlled with education from infancy”

The death of Jana Mejía, just 3 years old, due to the attack of a Pitbull breed dog has caused mixed reactions about the possession of dogs of breeds considered aggressive.

The specialized instructor, dog trainer and owner of the “Guau tu perro, Miau House” school, Raúl Castillo, referred to this case, stating that the nature of the dog can be controlled with education from infancy.

He explained that there are about five Pitbull breeds and they all have their characteristics and natures. “If you want to educate a dog after one year, it is a little more difficult because it already has many bad habits; not all dogs are for all people, we all sometimes want to have a dog, but it is not for you,” he stressed.

Castillo indicated that all dogs need time to walk, to have their quality of life, since keeping them tied up for so long is ultimately considered mistreatment.

“If you have a dog on a leash and more of this type of breed, it becomes a time bomb at some point,” he said.
