About 92,000 Americans died from overdose in 2020, about 30% more than the previous year, according to figures from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP for its acronym in English).
Only from 2015 to 2020 the rate of overdose deaths in black men it tripled, while for Native Americans it doubled.
According to research from the Pew Research Center, 75% of these overdoses are related to the use of synthetic opioids.
