The rains in Ecuador left more than 11,000 people displaced.

According to local authorities, the floods occurred in the province of Esmeraldas, in the northwest of the country, due to the overflow of six rivers in the region.

To deal with the emergency, the Armed Forces have deployed 500 troops and the National Police 110 officers.
In addition to the houses, more than 20 educational centers and hospitals in the region are affected.
