“You don’t have to ‘do magic’ so as not to increase the ticket. There is already a subsidy that prevents the increase in the price of diesel from being transferred to public transport costs. Cosse chooses to misinform”, said Laura Raffo after the expressions of Mayor Cosse who also assured that the departmental administration is making a great budgetary effort, so as not to increase the ticket.
Diesel subsidy
Raffo recalled that “the diesel subsidy in collective transport was created in 2006 with the aim of reducing the price of the ticket and is received by all operators in the country.”
He indicated that the subsidy is adjusted in such a way that it “compensates for increases in the price of diesel.”
“The subsidy differs by urban, suburban and interdepartmental transport system and is financed with a surcharge paid for diesel by the rest of the users. ANCAP collects it and transfers it to a trust for this purpose”, explained Raffo.
