Quiñónez’s trial remains undated

With the defeat of Pedro Alliana (Chartist ANR), of the presidency of the Chamber of Deputies, the ruling party allied with part of the opposition, now points to Sandra Quiñónez, Attorney General of the State.

The accusatory libel has eleven grounds for dismissal. One of them is the inaction of the Public Ministry in the sanction of the authors and accomplices in the patrimonial damage to the public budget around the construction of the unfinished “Metrobús Urban Reconversion Project”.

Another is the complicity of the Prosecutor’s Office with the bank authorities since they did not issue alerts (STR Suspicious Operation Reports) in the Darío Messer case and despite this, they have not yet been prosecuted.

Mention is also made of the assassination of Rodrigo Quintana, a young leader of the Liberal Party (PLRA), at the hands of police officers at the party’s headquarters. To date, the case remains unsolved.

There is also the lack of progress in emblematic cases of corruption such as those of Óscar “Nenecho” Rodríguez, mayor of Asunción, and Hugo Javier González, governor of Central. Just to name some of the main causes.

BUZARCHIS

Antonio Buzarquis, National Deputy for the PLRA, affirmed that the political trial against Sandra Quiñónez, Attorney General of the State, is on the agenda. However, he did not specify on what date they will present it.

“Let’s see how to get the numbers. We don’t want to just make a witness statement. What happened to Carlos María López shows that Chartism is not as strong as it seemed because, according to them, they had everything under control in the Chamber of Deputies. We are very close to reaching the finish line,” he commented.

According to the legislator’s calculations, five more votes would be missing to prosecute the Attorney General. It should be remembered that three llanista deputies were in favor of the dismissal as; Sergio Rojas, Manuel Trinidad and Jose Rodriguez.

“It is not a question of whims. We are going to sit down to talk about the agenda with the friends of the third space and the Republican Force bench and we are going to outline there, ”she sentenced.

CAMACHO

Norma Camacho, National Deputy for the PEN, expressed for her part that the construction of the accusatory libel continues and that more evidence is being added.

“Like any political trial, it is under construction at the moment. There must be 53 deputies. But on Thursday there was not the majority necessary to request it, ”he said.

He affirmed that there is progress for the construction of a majority, but they are different issues.

“I would not risk an opinion, it is a project under construction. We depend every day on new elements, ”she concluded.
