The assistant coach of the Brazilian team, Cléber Xavier, said this Friday (1), after the draw for the Groups of the first phase of the World Cup, that it is necessary to observe the behavior of the teams that fell in the Brazil key (Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon).
“We still have a process of evolution of our team in the friendly games that we still lack, and at the same time, the observation of these teams and their behavior in the next matches with their new coaches. This is our sequence of work”, declared the assistant of coach Tite in an interview with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).
Cléber Xavier also highlighted the fact that Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon are experiencing a moment of renewal, with the arrival of new coaches: “There are three teams with new coaches, with Serbia and Switzerland qualifying unbeaten in groups with Portugal and Italy. Cameroon is the most renewed of them, but now we are going to delve deeper into the study of the three teams”.
In addition, Tite’s assistant highlighted the game models of Brazil’s opponents in the first phase of the Qatar Cup: “There are three teams with different tactical designs as standard. Switzerland plays in a 4-2-3-1, the same design they played in 2018, but there will still be Nations League games to evolve in the hand of the new coach. Serbia is already showing a 3-5-2 formation, and may also grow in the coming months, while Cameroon, which eliminated strong Algeria, is now in a 4-4-2 formation”.
