The Public Ministry, headed by prosecutor Osvaldo García of the specialized unit against drug trafficking, carried out five raids on the headquarters of Fe Cambios and Panorama Cambios located in Pedro Juan Caballero (PJC) and Asunción on Thursday morning.
This company appears in investigations related to Darío Messer, convicted of money laundering in Brazil. Fe Cambios was denounced by the Brazilian Prosecutor’s Office in 2019 for collaborating in the concealment of Darío Messer from the Brazilian Justice. The company was key for Messer to be able to move and transfer resources during his stay in Paraguay. This within the framework of the “Pattern” operation.
Agents from Senad and the Joint Task Forces (FTC) supported the fiscal work. Prosecutor Osvaldo Garcia. This is a continuation of the “Belia” operation. Deny Yoon Pak, Isaac Ferreira, Fabiola Molas, Osmar Segovia and Guillermo Sanabria, all from the unit specializing in the fight against drug trafficking and the sensitive investigation unit of Senad, are carrying out the work.
According to data from the Public Ministry, the operation began in 2019 and continues to date. The criminal organization of Miguel Ángel Servín Palacios, alias “Juan Celular”, and the members that make up the association used the exchange houses as a platform for the payment or safekeeping of money in parallel to the formal financial system, coming from illicit activities.
