Public Health: 14 provinces do not report new cases of covid-19

Public Health does free tests to diagnose the coronavirus.

After carrying out 6,736 tests to report virus infections, the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) registered 318 cases of covid-19 yesterday, but these were not reported throughout the national territory.
According to the entity, in Azua, Bahoruco, Barahona, Duarte, Elías Piña, El Seibo, Espaillat, Independencia, as well as in Montecristi, Pedernales, Peravia, Hermanas Mirabal, Sánchez Ramírez and Monte Plata, no people affected with the viral disease were identified. .

Despite the fact that at the beginning of the year the country was under the domination of the omicron variant, it was considered by the World Health Organization (WHO) as of concern because it is easily spread and has greater contagion capacity than the others, for a long time a few weeks the rate of infected is at low values.

According to the epidemiological bulletin, the demarcations that reported infections were María Trinidad Sánchez with 92, while Santo Domingo reported 69 and Santiago 40.

Meanwhile, in the National District, 37 people tested positive for the pathology, in San José de Ocoa 28, and in San Juan 14.

San Pedro de Macorís recorded 10, La Altagracia eight, and La Vega, like Puerto Plata, five.

According to the government entity, only two were detected in La Romana and San Cristóbal; and in Dajabón, Samaná, Santiago Rodríguez, Valverde, Monseñor Nouel and Hato Mayor one.

Regarding positivity, he said that the daily one stood at 7.09 percent, and that of the last four weeks at 6.15.

He also highlighted that the number of active cases fell to 1,662.

Regarding deaths, he indicated that two individuals died from the disease, raising the number of deaths to 4,365. He stressed that 23.18 percent suffered from hypertension and 14.50 percent suffered from diabetes.
