PS, PPD, PR and PL meet with the political committee of the future Government: "The spirit is to back and support the Government of President Boric in everything"

Representatives of the Progressive Convergence parties (PS, PPD and PR), plus the Liberal Party (PL) met this Tuesday with the political committee of the future Government of the President-elect Gabriel Boricin the “Small Coin”, located in Providencia.

The presidents of these communities attended the instance electronically, since they are outside the country in a meeting with the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE). The general secretaries of the parties were present.

Representing the future government were interior ministers (Izkia Siches), Security (George Jackson), Segegob (Camila Vallejo), Tax authorities (Mario Marcel) and Women and Gender Equity (Antonia Orellana).

The leader of the Radical Party (PR) Maurice Andrews, who became the spokesperson for Progressive Convergence after the meeting, indicated that it was “the first formal meeting of the political committee, it was a very good meeting. Everyone’s encouragement is to back and support President Boric’s government in everything, for our commitment to Chile and for the great public confidence that the President-elect has.”

According to the above, some details of the installation process of the next government were delivered at the instance, as well as the needs for the day of the change of command on March 11.

Regarding the future appointments of government authorities, the general secretary of the PR affirmed that “the political parties have proposed names. The regions have been considered above all to make available to the new government people who could be a great contribution to the management of the Government from the different territories.

“Our role will be one of collaboration, seeking the best profiles of women and men for the needs of implementing government policies,” he added.

Finally, regarding the political future of the government and the two coalitions that make it up, Andrews stressed that it is a path that “must continue to be built”.

“As far as Progressive Convergence is concerned, we are meeting and working to strengthen our relations with the Approve Dignity parties, but these are conversations that take a long time,” he emphasized.

The next meeting between the coalitions and the political committee will be held on February 28, and it was agreed to hold this instance weekly after the government takes office.
