The Public Ministry will charge the director of the Humboldt School, Uta Martínez, for the death of five-year-old kindergarten student Santiago Alejandro Guerrero, reported the attorney general, Tarek William Saab.
Arianna Arcia (coordinator) as well as teachers Jazmín González and Jan Niklas Klever will also be charged for this act, the Prosecutor added.
All these people will be charged with negligent homicide and serious negligent injuries, crimes allegedly committed against the deceased minor and another schoolboy who was injured.
The facts
The events occurred last Tuesday when a group of kindergarten children were taken to the roof of the private school located in Alta Florida, Caracas, for an outdoor activity. At some point, Santiago and another classmate climbed on top of a skylight which fractured, causing both children to fall on the ground floor of the School. Personnel from the institution transferred the minors to a health center where Santiago dies, while the other remains under care, according to versions.
On Wednesday night, the Attorney General reported two accusations through his twitter account, including that of Uta Martínez, whom the Public Ministry presented as the director of kindergarten, as well as the coordinator of that department Arianna García.
But the next day, that is, Thursday November 3 at 12:51, Saab deleted the previous two tweets and replaced them with new information. The new trills presented Uta Martínez as director of the Humboldt School and Arianna García as coordinator. In addition, she added the names of two teachers who would also be charged: Jazmín González and Jan Niklas Klever.
“These unfortunate events that occurred at the Humboldt School occur without those responsible for the campus taking the respective precautions: to prevent a 5-year-old boy from losing his life and another from being seriously injured, both playing on the roof of a 4th floor”, Saab limited in another interaction on twitter.
