In this sense, the People’s Power Minister for Ecosocialism, Josue Lorca, expressed in the Café en la Mañana program broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, that the activity is carried out to “generate a roadmap on climate educationthat not only marks 2023 but a route that allows us to educate on climate matters and how to face the climate crisis”.
“Today on World Environmental Education Day, we continue with the first Climate Education congress, a mandate from the Constitution, the Plan for the Homeland and the President of the Republic Nicolás Maduro,” explained the minister.
Communal Councils and Ecologist groups participate in the Meeting. On this point, the minister stressed that “the subject of education must be expanded, it must go beyond a classroom”. The holder of the Ecosocialism portfolio indicated that the environmental movements, the Popular Power, the Communal Councils that work with the circular economy of recycling are invited, the public is invited for the activity that will culminate this Friday.
Four work tables were installed in the activity. “We hope to have the working paper ready, and then start disseminating it, at a national level. This is an issue that should be widely disseminated and worked on”.

On the other hand, the head of Ecosocialism highlighted that the National Government develops policies for environmental education with the creation of the Guardians of the Tree, the Brigades against climate change, the “A student, a tree” Program. He added that since last week, the house-to-house journey began, with the Climate Change Brigade members, who number 20,000 throughout the country, “to talk about the climate crisis.”
Lorca reported that they articulate with the National Assembly on the issue of solid waste service, “we are doing a general job.”
Likewise, the minister indicated that as part of the policies of the National Government “we have recovered between 450 to 470 trucks for the fleets of the mayors’ offices.”
