The driver of a bus, on the Burunga-Panama route, who attacked a passenger on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 10, on the premises of the Albrook transportation terminal, was preventively detained.
The Judge of Guarantees, Clara Montenegro, was in charge of the case and ordered the precautionary measure of preventive detention.
The 27-year-old man was charged with the alleged commission of a crime against life and personal integrity, after hitting the older adult, who allegedly denounced and opposed paying the illegal increase in the transport fare.
Subsequently, his arrest was legalized and the imputation of the charges was formulated by the Public Ministry, which was represented by the prosecutor Deysi Vásquez.
The accused was represented by private attorney Roberto Donado; while the victim is attorney Iris Boyd.
According to the victim’s relatives, the medical diagnosis reveals severe brain trauma and cerebral edema. The accused announced that he filed his appeal against the precautionary measure given by the guarantee judge; This was scheduled for next May 18.
Similarly, the Land Transit and Transportation Authority (ATTT) opened a process for the carrier of the route and identified the borrower who was also opened a process and both run the risk of losing the operation certificate.
