The Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA) reported that the courts issued a four-month preventive detention for a teacher who allegedly sexually abused a student. The event dates back to 2019 and the accused must comply with the measure in the San Pedro prison.
“The preventive detention of a teacher who sexually abused a UMSA student was ordered. This is a case that dates from 2019, which through the problem of the pandemic and some maneuvers on the issue of justice has been postponed, ”explained Rector Óscar Heredia.
In this regard, the legal advisor of the UMSA Legal Advice department, Lourdes Alba, clarified to Digital Page Seven that this preventive measure was declared for four months in the San Pedro prison.

A university publication indicates that the victim was a student who applied to an assistant’s degree; the teacher was a member of the court and summoned her to his office, where it is presumed he committed the humiliation.
“Once the complaint was received, the UMSA was part of the process since the incident took place on the campus of the university. For the next stages of the process, more evidence and witnesses will be provided, in addition to psychological tests carried out by the Municipal Comprehensive Legal Service (SLIM) and the Forensic Investigations Institute (IDIF) that endorse and give truth to the denounced fact ”, indicates a statement from University.
