President Nicolás Maduro ordered the restructuring of the National Superintendency of Cryptoactives and Related Activities (sunacrip), instance from which the petro, a Venezuelan digital currency based on oil and minerals, is offered.
The restructuring decree, signed with number 4,788, is dated March 17, the day on which the capture of Joselit Ramirezhead of Sunacrip, who is allegedly involved in acts of corruption.
For this reason, Maduro appointed a restructuring board of Sunacrip chaired by Anabel Pereira Fernández and three main directors: Héctor Andrés Obregón Pérez, Luis Alberto Pérez González and Julio César Mora Sánchez.
Pavel Javier García Sandoval, Ramón Daniel Maniglia Darwich, Carlos Eloy Pirela Méndez Larry Daniel Davoe Márquez and Edgardo Alfonzo Toro Carreño are appointed as alternate directors.
Maduro argued that the State is obliged to adopt all the measures at its disposal “to protect the Venezuelan people from the negative effects of the multiform aggression that is taking place against the country.”
