The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, met this Tuesday with the ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Li Baorong, on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Caracas and Beijing.
The meeting was held in Office 1 of the Miraflores Palace and was attended by the Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, the first combatant Cilia Flores and the Ministers of Science and Technology and Communication and Information, Gabriela Jiménez and Freddy Ñáñez, respectively.
The event ratified Venezuela’s will to continue strengthening strategic and cooperative relations with China.
After the meeting, some acts of cultural exchange of Chinese and Venezuelan traditions were carried out.
Prior to his meeting with the head of state, the Chinese ambassador attended the National Assembly (AN), where a draft agreement was approved to commemorate 48 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
Earlier there was also a wreath at the National Pantheon, in which the executive vice president, Delcy Rodríguez, described diplomatic relations with China as “excellent level.”
Venezuela has executed, together with China, more than 618 projects financed by the Chinese Fund, in various areas such as culture, aerospace, energy, military, mining, among others.
