President Luis Abinader, through decree 486-22, of August 24, 2022, issued the Regulations for the Application of Law no. 167-21, on Regulatory Improvement and Simplification of Procedures.
This regulation regulates in a more detailed way the processes for the dictation of regulatory norms by the different dependencies of the Executive Power.
Among its novelties, the configuration and development of the regulatory impact analysis stands out, which will allow evaluating the positive or negative effects that the regulations may produce, not only before their eventual entry into force, but also during their application.
In addition, it reconfigures the public consultation process, which had been governed by Decree 130-05, which approves the Regulations of the Law on Free Access to Public Information. The proposals for economic and social regulations will be submitted to a public consultation of 45 business days, while the others will be governed by 20 business days.
