President Cortizo met with members of the Coalition of Unity for Colón

The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo, held a meeting this Friday with members of the Coalition of Unity for Colón, with the aim of listening to their needs, making decisions and working together to benefit all the people of Colón.

This, after countless protests in Colón by various sectors of society, demanding solutions to different problems facing the province.

“I had a productive meeting with the members of the United for Colón Coalition. We talked about the needs, the reactivation of the projects and those that are already being executed to boost the economy throughout the province, ”said the president.

One of the conclusions of this meeting is that a roadmap will be drawn up for a comprehensive development plan for the province in a tripartite manner, where civil society, businessmen and the Government will participate.

As part of the economic reactivation, the Panamanian Head of State mentioned that at the beginning of next year the construction of the Amador Guerrero Hospital will be resumed.

On the other hand, the president sanctioned “an important law to safeguard the historical heritage of Colón, which allows the rehabilitation and conservation of existing sites and adds other monumental complexes.”
