President peter castle regretted the death of police officer Freddy Guzmán Quispe, who died after confronting a gang of armed criminals in Pisco this Saturday.

“I deeply regret the loss of the PNP, Freddy Guzmán Quispe, victim of an attack at the hands of criminals in Pisco. I know of the noble aspirations he had for our country and for this I express my deepest condolences to his family and friends. His death will not go unpunished.” se reads in his message from his Twitter account.
Castillo Terrones’ statement comes after he participated in an event at the Government Palace as part of the National Holidays. This is the presentation of “Peru is its regions”, an audiovisual piece of the different landscapes, traditions and scenarios of Peru, in order to spread our richness and diversity. The head of state was accompanied by his family.
As reported by the PNP on its social networks minutes before, Guzmán Quispe died in the line of duty when he was facing a gang of criminals.
“We extend our most sincere condolences to the family and friends of our brother police officer S1 PNP Fredy Luis Guzmán Quispe. Rest in peace”, reads in the image shared by the PNP.
