He questioned that the authorities have not detailed the number of members or the identity of their leaders.

The NGO warned that the ruler Nicolás Maduro introduced a new term to define these networks: armed terrorist drug traffickers from Colombia and Venezuela (Talconven).
Through a statement published on its website, the NGO recalled that Maduro, during The act to celebrate the end of the year to the National Armed Forces (FAN), held on December 28, admitted that these groups operate in Zulia, Táchira, Apure, Amazonas, Bolívar, Delta Amacuro, Monagas, Sucre and Falcón , that is, three quarters of the national territory.

He questioned that during the act neither Maduro nor the Defense Minister, Valdimir Padrino López, avoided giving details about the current state of the presence of armed groups in these territories, such as the estimated number of people that make up these groups, the identity of its leaders or the names of those detained or discharged after the ten operations carried out during the year.
“Neither was the existence of military cooperation mechanisms with Colombia to combat them reported, taking into account the reestablishment of military relations between Venezuela and Colombia, announced in August of this year by the Minister of Popular Power for Defense, General in Chief Vladimir Padrino López,” said Control Ciudadano.
The NGO mentioned that Maduro recognized the existence of armed groups also in the states of Barinas and Guárico, referring to the FAN’s “Vuelvan Caras” Operation, which took place in those federal entities. He also recalled the president that “we must deepen the action behind them until they are finished.”
Operations against armed groups in 2022
During the year 2022, the FAN carried out 10 operations in the following states:

2.- Operation “Lightning of Catatumbo”, in Zulia State.
3.- Operation “Cacique Murachí”, in Táchira”.
4.- Operation, “Vuelvan Caras”, in the states of Apure, Barinas, and Guárico.
5.- Operation “Autana” in the Amazon.
6.- Operation “Roraima”, in Bolívar State.
7.- Operation “Wara”, in the Delta Amacuro State.
8.- Operation “Cacique Cayaurima” in Sucre State.
9.- Operation “Paramacory” in Monagas State.
10.- Operation “Redimain”, in the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic coast.
