Premier Alberto Otárola requests legislative powers from Congress

The head of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM), Alberto Otárola, asked the Congress of the Republic to grant him for 90 days.

The prime minister’s request came during his presentation to Parliament to have a vote of confidence for the cabinet under his leadership.

The request for powers, among other aspects, is circumscribed in economic, tax, financial matters and in terms of attention to populations in high conflict.

“I let you know that Our request for legislative powers for ninety days is already on the table of parts of Congress on specific matters of economy, taxation, finance, attention to populations with high social conflict, modernization of the State, suitability and meritocracy”, said the premier.

Otárola also emphasized that the Government of will not do will work on autopilotas expressed by the President of the Republic herself.

Shortly after, the premier commented that the government will make an effort to assume the pro tempore presidency of the Pacific Alliance as soon as possible.
