El Potro Álvarez, former baseball player and former Minister of Sports, took the stage with Gustavo Elis and Sixto Rein, opening act in Venezuela for the concert of the tour “The Last Mission” by Puerto Ricans Wisin and Yandel
This Saturday, September 3, the concert of the reggaeton duo Wisin y Yandel took place on the outskirts of El Poliedro de Caracas, a presentation expected by many and that was plagued with failures and inconveniences, including the presence on stage of Potro Álvarez, current president of the National Institute of Hippodromes (INH), who has just resumed his career as a singer.
Antonio Álvarez, known as El Potro Álvarez, former baseball player and former Sports Minister, was booed by the crowd that attended the concert, part of the tour the last mission of Puerto Ricans.

Despite the gestures and shouts of rejection, Álvarez described the evening as “beautiful and hopeful.”
“A beautiful night filled with a lot of hopeful union among Venezuelans! Thank you, God, thank you to each one of those who sang our songs and for allowing us to spend a special night with you. Love and union is what makes us great. The best is yet to come, amen 2023”, she posted on her Instagram account.
a bumpy date
The rejection of the presence of the official from the administration of Nicolás Maduro was not the only inconvenience that marred the appointment: electrical failures and in the logistics for access to the venue the attendees had to overcome.
«At the Wisin y Yandel concert, the power went out several times and for long periods, only the power plants were left working (…) There were cars up to the highway and people asked $20 to take care of it. The rain was intense and they sold the black bags to cover you for $5 (…) Impressive the number of escorts at the concert, who entered and left like a dog through their house in the different areas: the chapeo without shame, “reported Dayana Krays, journalist of Venezuela Impact.
The deal with the press was also a disaster, nothing that the producer promised was fulfilled.
They did not let the space that was destined for us to cover the event pass.

The exit of the event was also uneven: «Pickets of the Bolivarian National Police prevented the exit while hundreds gathered. Two hours to get out of the parking lot, where many were left with the vehicles stranded, in sewers without a lid, “he said. Rayli Lujanalso a journalist.
«Police officers asked the journalists for money to let them park, it did not matter if they showed their work card or the press bracelet (…) In the middle of the afternoon there was a signal in the Poliedro, but when Gustavo Elis got on stage, Sixto Rein and Potro Álvarez the coverage disappeared completely. At the end of the Wisin y Yandel concert, at 2:00 a.m., people had no way of ordering a taxi, “said Isaac González in The National.
The Wisin y Yandel show, without the Potro
The duo formed by Juan Luis Morera Luna «Wisin» and Llandel Veguilla Malavé «Yandel», deserving of two Latin Grammy and ten Latin Billboard awards, among others; offered a concert loaded with audiovisuals and fireworks: they performed more than 20 songs, wasting energy.
Journalists who cover Source Show and who attended the event point out that were it not for the logistical inconveniences, the concert would have been one of the best this season.
«An hour and a half of concert. A machine gun without pause of songs. Bursts of fire. piece of paper Giant screens. Lights. Wissin & Yandel’s is a great concert”, trilled Simón Villamizar, former editor of the pages of Espectaculos de The universal.
