This Tuesday members of the popular pots participated in a march in support of the Popular and Solidarity Coordinator (CPS) after the Ministry of Social Development decided not to provide them with more food due to the lack of data and figures on them.
Under the slogan “If there is hunger, there is a fight” the members mobilized from Plaza Libertad (Cagancha) to the Executive Tower.
The CPS spokesman, Esteban Corrales, gave his impressions regarding the protest. In the first place, he stated that he felt “enormous joy” for “forging this identity that makes us proud”.
“We cook, we show our faces, in the neighborhoods they know us, in the territories we are there. We will never stop being there. The Popular and Solidarity Coordinator is a valid actor, we are alive and we are in the neighborhoods”, she expressed.
in conversation with Underlined, Correa indicated that the Mides did not cover all the supplies for the realization of the popular pots. However, he emphasized that “a scenario was set up that sought to stigmatize the selfless, voluntary and supportive work of thousands of people over these two and a half years.”
In addition, the spokesman reported that the Coordinator requested a meeting with Mides authorities, but they rejected it.
