Police kill two in exchange of fire

La Policía mata dos en intercambio de disparos

a patrol of the National Police killed two young people yesterday, in an alleged exchange of shots in the El Cachón de la Rubia sector, Santo Domingo Este.

The police report states that against Anderson Amparo Zapata, (Cachón) and Londry de la Cruz (Popolón)there were arrest warrants for the commission of different crimes, including robberies and assaults.

The organization assures that Amparo Zapata was seized with a 38 mm caliber revolver, with an illegible mark and numbering, with three casings in its cylinder and a capsule of the same caliber.

Meanwhile, the uniformed officer refers, De la Cruz was seized with an illegible brand pistol, caliber 380 mm and serial number B17021Y.

The police communication also indicates that the acting agents sighted the two men while they were carrying out investigative work in the aforementioned sector, which, upon noticing the presence of the agents, shot them.

Given these circumstances, the text adds, the agents countered the attack, causing both men the injuries that caused their death.
