Police fired into the air inside Unilago to avoid lynching of thief

A real chaos was experienced this Thursday morning inside the Center for Technology and Innovation, Unilagolocated in Carrera 15 # 78-33, when several citizens noticed the attempted robbery of a man.

The fury of the merchants and citizens occurred when the alleged thief tried to pay for a high-end cell phone with a stolen credit card, which is why the owner of the mall premises alerted his other fellow merchants about the fact and several of them went to capture the subject.

The situation got out of control when merchants and citizens tried to take justice into their own hands, attacking the assailant with whatever they found in their path. However, the Police were alerted to the fact and entered the commercial establishment to try to control the aggression and prevent the thief from being lynched.

Although there were several attempts by the authorities to continue avoiding the attacks, in the midst of so much tension, one of the agents chose to fire his manned weapon into the air inside Unilago, as the only alternative to regain control.

“A person entered and the merchants captured him. However, they attempted against his life by assaulting him, they took justice into their own hands. The Police removed him, obtained the protection of this person’s life and arranged it before the Attorney General’s Office,” said Colonel Jader Llanera, Police Inspection officer in Bogotá.
