PNP assures that it will resume control of public order in Chincheros

“We are doing the operational planning to regain control, at the request of the authorities, in Chincheros, where the police station has been exceeded and destroyed by a fire caused by vandals in the social mobilizations that took place this week,” he said in his speech during the conference headed by the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, to publicize the actions taken by the Government to restore order and public tranquility in the regions declared in a state of emergency.

The highest police authority stated, quoted by Andina, that the violent actions produced during the week were coupled with a propaganda campaign aimed at generating confusion and anxiety in the population through false news.

Cusco

Alfaro Alvarado indicated that the timely action of the PNP prevented a group of protesters from taking over the Alejandro Velasco Astete international airport in Cusco and after the intervention of law enforcement, the protesters returned to their towns of origin.

Junin and Ayacucho

The general commander of the PNP also said that yesterday there were two outbreaks of violence in Pichanaki (Junín) and Huamanga (Ayacucho). In the first case, a police station was attacked with firearms, with a balance of several policemen wounded by bullets. “We are making efforts to transfer these personnel to Lima so that they receive the corresponding medical attention,” he noted.

He also highlighted that in Pichanaki public order and tranquility were restored after the agreement with the leaders of the protesters.

In the case of Huamanga, he said that there were attacks on the airport and the headquarters of the Public Ministry and the Judiciary. “The Police regained control of the Plaza de Armas and prevented the premises of the Public Ministry and the Judiciary from being set on fire,” he pointed out, assuring that social peace has already been restored in the capital of the Ayacucho region.
