On May 26, the Congress of the republic reported a new interpellation motion against the President of the Council of Ministers, Hannibal Torres. The measure is due to the extension of the state of emergency against COVID-19 and the proposal to advance the elections that the president would announce Peter Castle.
This is the order of business motion 2593, which proposes to summon the prime minister before the plenary session of Congress, the same one that will be voted on in the next few hours in order to know if it admits to debate.
According to the parliamentary initiative, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) would not have carried out an “analysis of temporality, reasonableness, proportionality and necessity” of the measures restricting fundamental rights.

The prime minister is also being questioned for his assertions that the government of President Pedro Castillo was going to make one last attempt at agreement, with which the project to advance the general elections was not announced.
