Méndez is a member of the Executive Secretariat of the PIT-CNT and coordinates the militant brigades in Montevideo and the interior of the country.
“We inform people about the articles, but there are also spontaneous talks and they question the fact that almost everything they see about the LUC is designed to favor those at the top, the powerful, and they know that there is not a single article that is in favor of those below, of those who send their children to public school, of those who at some point in a joke may not be able to pay the rent, or in favor of the young people,” the union leader said in statements to the PIT website. -CNT.

Méndez explained that the neighborhood campaign in the territory for the “Yes” to the repeal of 135 articles of the LUC is “step by step, without haste but without rest.”
He recalled that the campaign has the color pink as an emblem, but the absolute leading role belongs to the people. “People push us and set us on the way to another feat.”
The call to the polls, mandatory, will take place on Sunday, March 27.
