Piqueteros organizations march again to Social Development

Left-wing organizations that make up the so-called “Picket Unit” march again this Thursday Ministry of Social Development calling for the creation of “genuine work and food assistance to the poorest neighborhoods.”

The protesters gather from 8 in the Obelisk and the corner of the avenue Independence and July 9to then go to the headquarters of the portfolio led by Juan Zabaleta, located on Avenida Belgrano and July 9.

“We will stay there indefinitely”the leader of the Polo Obrero (PO) told Télam Edward Belliboni.

On Monday, the piquetero organizations held a “national plenary session” at the Obelisk “to discuss the national situation, a list of demands and a plan of struggle”, an occasion in which they defined a “permanence action” that will begin this Thursday in the Avenida 9 de Julio and in other parts of the country.

The Piquetero Unit is made up of the Polo Obrero, MTR-Votamos Luchar, CUBA-MTR, Movimiento Barrios de Pie; the National Piquetero Bloc, the Armando Conciencia Group and the November 17 Organization, the MTR Teresa Rodríguez, a fraction of the FOL and the Liberation Territorial Movement (MTL-Rebelde).

Also part of the organization are the Coordinator for Social Change, the Socialist Workers’ Movement (MST), the Federation of Grassroots Organizations (FOB) and the Workers’ Neighborhood Movement (MBT).
