Hearing the sirens and without carrying out the robbery, two men on board a blue motorcycle escaped in the direction of the Bayly bridge, presumably towards Sangani, according to witnesses at the scene.
The victims of the failed robbery were identified as members of the Valle Biriquí Cooperative, located in front of the INIA. They said they had previously withdrawn the sum of S/ 200,000 from Banco Continental, but immediately transferred the money to another account.
Upon leaving the bank, they headed to a local restaurant to have lunch, when they were caught up with on a motorcycle and one of the criminals, armed, demanded that they hand over the money they had withdrawn. However, upon learning that the funds were no longer in their possession, the criminals beat one of the victims and took his cell phone before fleeing.
The police and Serenazgo already have clues about the identity of the criminals, who are believed to be foreign nationals, and are following their trail.
