The Federal Police (PF) and the Internal Revenue Service unleashed, this morning, ThursdayThis Friday (24), the Retis and Spiderweb operations, against two criminal groups investigated for trafficking cocaine from South America to Europe.
The investigations found that the traffickers used a variety of methods to send the drug to European countries through the Port of Paranaguá, in Paraná. They even used divers to hide the cocaine in the submerged compartment of the ships.
The criminals also hid the drug in containers, without the exporter’s knowledge, placing it in the refrigerator machinery and inside legal cargoes of wood, orange juice, sugar, among others.
Federal police officers are serving 17 arrest warrants and 86 search and seizure warrants at addresses linked to those investigated. The actions are being carried out in the states of Paraná, Santa Catarina and São Paulo.
The Justice also determined patrimonial measures of confiscation of properties, blocking of assets and values existing in the bank accounts and financial investments of the investigated, which total an estimated value of
approximately R$ 55 million.
