Petroleum engineer Carlos Edgar Vives Suárez took over as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petroleos del Perú (Petroperú).
Vives was appointed to the position by decision of the General Meeting of Shareholders of Petroperú after he served since April 1 of last year as vice president and independent director of the aforementioned company.
His appointment was made official through an important event at the Superintendency of the Stock Market (SMV).

The state oil company detailed Vives’ experience through a statement.
“Vives Suárez is a graduate of the National Engineering University, with 40 years of experience in the oil industry and in related activities such as oil negotiation and contracting, environmental protection, community relations and prior consultation,” Petroperú highlighted.
This also announced the appointment of Pedro Chira Fernández as a member of the board of directors and specified that the composition also includes “Edmundo Lizarzaburu Bolaños, Víctor Murillo Huamán, José Andrés Olivares Canchari and Antonio Manosalva Alarcón, representing the workers”.
