Petrobras: Landim is appointed to preside over the Board of Directors

The government nominated Rodolfo Landim, current president of Flamengo, to preside over Petrobras’ Board of Directors. The announcement was made this Saturday (5) evening, through relevant fact sent by the state-owned company to the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM).Petrobras: Landim is appointed to preside over the Board of Directors

“Petróleo Brasileiro SA – Petrobras informs that it has received an official letter from the Ministry of Mines and Energy with eight nominations for the Board of Directors and four nominations for the Company’s Fiscal Council, and an official letter from the National Treasury Secretariat of the Ministry of Economy with two nominations for the Company’s Fiscal Council, for deliberation at the Annual General Meeting of April 13, 2022”, informed the state-owned company.

Landim’s name comes right at the top of the list, with the other names indicated. Then, a curriculum vitae of each candidate is published: “Mr. Luiz Rodolfo Landim Machado holds a degree in civil engineering with a specialization in hydraulic works from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1979), with a postgraduate degree in petroleum engineering from Petrobras (1980) and from the University of Alberta (1985) and in business administration from Harvard University (1994)”.

Landim joined Petrobras in 1980, where he worked for 26 years and held various managerial positions in the Exploration & Production area, including Production Superintendent of the Northeast Production Region, Superintendent of the Production District of the North Area, General Manager of Exploration and Production of the Campos Basin and executive manager of Exploration and Production for the South and Southeast regions.

Between 2000 and 2003, he was president of Gaspetro, responsible for Petrobras’ equity interests in natural gas transport and distribution companies. Between 2003 and 2006 he was president of Petrobras Distribuidora SA – BR.

After leaving Petrobras, he served as general director of MMX Mineração e Metálicos SA (2006 to 2008), founder and later CEO of OGX Petróleo e Gás Participações SA (2008 to 2009) and CEO of OSX Brasil SA (2009-2010).

Since 2019 he has been president of Clube de Regatas Flamengo.
