After it became known unemployment rate in Colombia for October 2022, delivered by Dane this Wednesday, and which is once again in single digits after almost three years, President Gustavo Petro referred to the data and stated that employment is essential for economic growth.

According to the entity, the national unemployment rate in October 2022 was 9.7%, while for the 13 cities and metropolitan areas it was 9.9%.
The economic activity that generated the most employment was Vehicle trade and repair (+345,000), thus contributing 1.6 percentage points to the national variation and reaching 4.1 million employed people.

In turn, in artistic activities, entertainment, recreation and other service activities the number of employed persons increased by 277,000 people and the Information and communications sector registered 354,000 employed persons in the tenth month of the year.
