His pronouncement occurred one day after the body of the police officer was found inside a vehicle in Bogotá.

According to official information, Dávila, who was assigned to the security of the Presidency, would have taken his own life after receiving “several calls from the press” and attending an investigation in the Technical Investigation Corps of the Colombian Prosecutor’s Office.

This event occurred in the midst of a judicial inquiry carried out by the authorities of the neighboring country to establish whether there were irregularities or abuse of power in the interrogation to which Marelbys Meza, a former babysitter at the service of Laura Sarabia, who was head of Gustavo Petro’s cabinet until the beginning of June, when a scandal broke out over the theft of $7,000. Meza was accused of that crime.
