The leading politician of the Historical Pact, Gustavo Petro, was the winner of the first round of the presidential elections in Colombia, and he wants to be president.

With 8,522,399 votes in his favor, he placed first on the lists to occupy the first position in the Nation. In second place is Rodolfo Hernández, with whom he will dispute the second round on June 19.

Lastly, and in eleven points, the presidential candidate showed his commitments as the nation’s chief executive:

  3. Creation of a commission with international prosecutors to curb corruption.
  4. Emergency plan against hunger.
  5. No to Fracking.
  6. Vital income for mothers who are heads of families in strata 1, 2 and 3.
  7. Implementation of peace agreements and territorial security, and deactivation of war.
  8. A decent roof for all who still do not have a home.
  9. Recover the economy through rural productivity, responsible tourism, access to credit, science and technology.
  10. Care for the environment and promotion of art and culture to build a Colombia in peace.
  11. Strengthening of the public network of Hospitals that guarantees everyone’s access to the Health System.
