The match Free Perulead by Vladimir Cerron, issued a statement of rejection against the decision of the Transitory Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice to order a new trial against the parliamentarian Guillermo Bermejowho currently is part of the ranks of the bench Democratic Peru.
This message of support is framed after months of a bad relationship between Guillermo Bermejo Y Free Peruafter he resigned from the former official bench after not agreeing with the guidelines of his colleagues closest to the cerronista line.
From the perspective of Free Peruthe legislator is considered a traitor and so he highlighted it in his pronouncement; however, he ruled against his being brought to trial again because he already had a sentence: “Bermejo betrayed Peru Libre, he lived through Castillo, but that does not justify his persecution.”
New trial against Guillermo Bermejo
The Transitory Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice ordered that the congressman Guillermo Bermejo face a new oral trial for the alleged crime of affiliation to a terrorist organization to the detriment of the state.
This measure was adopted after the previously annulled the sentence issued by Second National Superior Criminal Chamber On January 31. In it, the parliamentarian was acquitted and the prosecutor’s request for 20 years in prison against him for the aforementioned crime was denied.
The sentence was annulled after the National Prosecutor’s Office and the Public Attorney Specialized in crimes of Terrorism will submit appeals. Now, the new oral trial will be in charge of another room of the National Superior Court of Specialized Criminal Justice.
