“Faced with this wave of femicides and murders of children at the hands of violent men, horror runs through us, outrages us and rebels us,” Pereira said on his Facebook profile.

He said that gender-based violence deeply challenges and pushes to urgently seek answers. “To those of us who have responsibilities in the political life of the country, even more so.”

The president of the FA pointed out that the femicides and murders of minors is one of the problems in which political differences must be put aside and move towards a broad, diverse dialogue that allows building a “national pact” to confront gender violence and violence against children and adolescents.

“A pact that involves all people, from all sectors, spaces, organizations, institutions, groups and associations”, detailed the president of the FA.

He added: “A pact that recognizes the need to transform sexist gender relations and adult-centric relationships, that involves us in the construction of a society free of sexist stereotypes, based on relations of equality, justice and freedom”.

Pereira recognized that “there is much to do” and, from the Presidency of the Broad Front, they make themselves available to build those spaces for dialogue necessary for the elaboration of policies that prevent this scourge from continuing to advance.
