According to the portal for visits to the Government Palace, the Minister of Justice, Félix Chero, met with President Pedro Castillo after former Palace Secretary Bruno Pacheco surrendered to justice after remaining a fugitive for almost 4 months.
The meeting between the head of the Minjus and the head of state lasted just under an hour. His entry was recorded at 22:36 pm and his departure at 23:23 pm on the last Monday, July 25.
According to La República sources, President Pedro Castillo knew nothing of this situation and learned of Pacheco’s handover from the news. His lawyers have just confirmed this version.
The former secretary general of Palacio would have been transported from the district of Chorrillos to the center of Lima, headquarters of the Public Ministry, by PNP Colonel Harvey Colchado and prosecutor Marita Barreto of the Special Team Against Corruption of Power.
Pacheco has a preventive detention order since April of this year when Judge Manuel Chuyo, of the Third Preparatory Investigation Court, imposed the measure for 36 months; however, the term was reduced in the second instance.
Would Fray be next?
During the last days, the Police were close to finding Fray Vásquez Castillo, nephew of the president, who would have been hidden in a house in Asia with Bruno Pacheco. The owner of the property is Alejandro Sánchez, owner of the house in the Sarratea passage in Breña.
And although different versions assure that Pacheco was in hiding in the district of Chorrillos, it is not ruled out that in the next few hours the former Secretary General of the Palace may help find Pedro Castillo’s family.
