Santo Domingo.– Officers of the National Directorate for Drug Control (DNCD) and members of the Public Ministry, arrested Cornelio Acevedo Rojas, (The Compa)who had been wanted for several months for matters related to drug trafficking.
The anti-narcotics agents set up a monitoring and surveillance operation, which allowed Acevedo Rojas to be captured, on Dionisio Valera street, Bella Vista, National District.
The accused was traveling along the aforementioned street, aboard a black Honda CRV SUV, license plate G-577142, at the time of his arrest.
The Dominican is being requested for extradition by the United States, a country that requires him to answer for drug trafficking charges, in the Southern District of Florida.
It is recalled that alias el Compa, in January 2021, managed to escape a chase on Winston Churchill Avenue, National District, when he resisted arrest and rammed the agents on board a SUV, who were forced to shoot at the tires. .
Then the accused left the white Hyundai Tucson SUV abandoned on Roberto Pastoriza street and entered one of the neighborhoods near the place.
Since then, alias el Compa, was actively sought by the authorities, who followed his steps for several months, until arresting him this Monday in the National District.
