The president of the Republic, peter castle, assured that he will collaborate with the investigations that are being carried out against him for the Puente Tarata III case. He also stated that he will attend the summons of the Public Ministry, as well as other instances of justice.
In dialogue with TV Peru, he ruled out that he had coordinated deliveries of money to third parties in exchange for favors and rejected the content of the audio between businessman Zamir Villaverde and former Minister of Transport and Communications Juan Silva, which is in the hands of the Public Ministry.
“Many audios and videos have been edited for me and that does not surprise me, but what corresponds to make that framework transparent, in terms of corruption, I am willing to collaboratebut I reject that on our part a minister has been directed ‘that I entrust this to you’ and that a trusted person has been told ‘that it costs this or is worth so much’”said.
“I am willing to collaborate, I will attend the call of the prosecutor and other instances that have to do with the investigation.we have an agenda, we have heard the suggestion, the request of my lawyers, in which I am summoned, but it is necessary to know that documentation was missing to know what to answer“, held.
“Of course [me comprometo a responder] and I am going to do it, not only if a process is opened in Lima or another space, I am going to submit, that is my commitment to the country”he added.
Villaverde audio
According to the transcript of the aforementioned audio, Villaverde and Silva coordinate the delivery of “one hundred grand” to the former minister. Villaverde admits that he had irregular interference in at least four tenders awarded by MTC organizations (Provías Nacional and Provías Descentralizado). The amount of these contracts amounts to S/518,594,594 in total, according to El Comercio.
