President addressed the country in a new message to the Nation, in a situation led by the chaos in the streets in different cities of Peru before the . In his brief presentation, he announced the citizen’s immobility from two in the morning until 11:59 at night on Tuesday, April 5.

The President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, reported that his government has decided to declare a state of emergency in Lima and Callao after reaching an agreement with the Council of Ministers during an extraordinary session held on Monday night.

“The Council of Ministers decreed a state of emergency, suspending the constitutional rights related to freedom and personal security, the inviolability of the home and freedom of assembly and transit in the province of Lima and Callao”.

Shortly before the end of this Monday, the president spoke to ask the population for calm in the face of the recent protests.

STATE OF EMERGENCY

Minutes after the message issued by President Castillo, the newspaper El Peruano made official what was decreed by the president. In this way, the State of Emergency and the exit impediment were confirmed from 2 am to 11:59 pm on Tuesday, April 5.
