The Ministry of Public Health will investigate what was the failure at the Itauguá National Hospital, where a mother gave birth on the floor. The premature baby has already been extubated, but is still on therapy.
A 30-year-old woman, a regular patient at the Itauguá National Hospital, went to the emergency department this morning, wherethey did not classify her case as urgent and told her to wait, while the doctors were with two other deliveries in the ward.
However, the mother He couldn’t stand it and the little one ended up being born on the hallway floor, without the slightest care or attention from the obstetricians.

“He is in good condition, I do not think a subsequent transfer to another place is necessary, because this Hospital is one of the reference centers in neonatal medicine, the boy He has already been extubated, he continues in therapy, but he is already breathing on his own”said the Minister of Health, Julio Borba, in conversation with Npy.
He announced that a team he trusts will attend early tomorrow, will issue a report to find out where the problem was, whether in the lack of identification of the urgency or in another cause.
However, the director, Yolanda González, defended the doctors and maintained that they reached the woman, without the emergency being reported to them, therefore, it could have been the responsibility of the nurse who received her and that, he did not identify the warning signs.
