PCV reiterates that it is a “superb provocation” to only increase bonuses and not minimum wage

Perfecto Abreu, president of the PCV, believes that the Executive wants to turn the salary fight into a “conspiracy” and take measures that will screw him into power. He insisted that the announcements made by the government killed the minimum wage and social benefits.

The president of the Communist Party of Venezuela (CVP), Perfecto Abreu, described the presidential announcements of an increase in bonuses and not the minimum wage as a “superb provocation” for the workers, who have been protesting in the streets for months for better demands.

In a press conference held on Tuesday, May 2, Abreu warned that what the Nicolás Maduro administration is pursuing is turning the workers’ fair claim into a “conspiracy against them”, in order to justify taking extraordinary measures and avoiding leaving the can.

“They are hunting for conditions for a contingency situation; declare a state of emergency with which they suspend many constitutional rights and create a new situation in the country, ”he added.

For the PCV leader, what happened with these announcements was the destruction and elimination of the minimum wage and he regretted that “the government persists in its wage bonus policy”, while saying that the measures taken by the Executive are very far away. what the people want.

“The conquest of a fair salary for a dignified life and indexed to the basic family basket continues to be one of the fundamental banners of struggle of the entire labor movement and Venezuelan workers,” Abreu added.

Similarly, the PCV spokesman questioned whether these bonds are going to be indexed and recalled that social benefits are what “capitalizes the work effort of the workers, workers and the Venezuelan family”, so if the minimum wage was eliminated, undoubtedly there is no such element that symbolizes the effort of Venezuelans.

The PCV also believes that this “new fraud” gives continuity to a list of salary deceptions. Abreu recalled the trap of anchoring the salary to the petro cryptoactive as well as the promise made a year ago to retirees of a special bonus of 10,000 bolivars.

“First they announced a comprehensive bonus; then it was in two parts, then in three. The truth of the case is that it was no more than one more lie. Until now, this bonus has not been paid to the retirees of the Public Administration ”, he highlighted.

The PCV had already advanced a pronouncement the night of the May 1st by warning on his social networks that President Nicolás Maduro is “playing with fire” by not approving an increase in the minimum wage, but rather in bonuses. In his opinion, he is denying Venezuelans what the Constitution dictates in its article 91.

“From the PCV we reject such government measures, which only serve the accumulation of capital to the detriment of the life of the working people, and we support the decision to continue on the streets until wages and pensions indexed to the basic basket are achieved,” the political party wrote. .
