"Paw" Medina requested the annulment of the evidence used to order his arrest

The Federal Oral Court 2 of La Plata, on March 3, will begin judging the former trade unionist

The former head of the Uocra La Plata Juan Pablo Medina requested this Monday to the Justice the annulment of all the anonymous complaints against him that were accepted as evidence to substantiate his arrest, in another of the derivations of the Buenos Aires judicial table allegedly created to persecute trade unionists.

The presentation was made by Medina’s lawyer, César Albarracín, before the Federal Oral Court (TOF) 2 of La Plata, which next March 3 will begin to judge the exgremialista, Along with part of his family and former leaders of the UOCRA branch in La Plata, for the crimes of extortion, illicit association and money laundering.

“We demand the absolute nullity of the anonymous complaints against Medina and consequently his dismissal since he is under house arrest,” Albarracín told Télam and stated that the dismissal of his client should be extended to other defendants, such as María Fabiola García – Medina’s wife -, David Emiliano García, Rubén Darío Roldán, Pablo Nicolás Neces, Lara Micaela Muñoz and Marianela Lujan Pagnoni.

In the brief, Albarracín maintained that “The imprisonment that Medina suffers today, as well as the union restrictions that weigh against him, are a consequence of that activity“, when referring in this last point to the so-called Buenos Aires judicial table during the management of María Eugenia Vidal.

In June 2017, a meeting was held on the seventh floor of the Buenos Aires headquarters of Banco Provincia in which the then head of the Buenos Aires Labor portfolio, Marcelo Villegas, was present, who expressed there his desire to have a “Gestapo” to “end the unions.”

Medina was imprisoned in September of that year, three months after that encounter.

Albarracín indicated that “espionage tasks on Medina and its surroundings” began in early May 2017 and that the “judicial attack” began a week later through an anonymous complaint”, Therefore, he added, “there was a political decision of the national government (of Mauricio Macri) and the provincial government (of Vidal) to specify the plan for the imprisonment of Juan Pablo Medina and his entourage.”

The judicial investigation by the Buenos Aires Judicial Table is in charge of federal judge Ernesto Kreplak, who summoned Villegas himself as well as the rest of the meeting participants, including former officials, businessmen from the La Plata area and former directors of the Federal Intelligence Agency (AFI).

The first summoned to the investigation are the businessmen who attended the meeting at the Buenos Aires headquarters of Banco Provincia: this is Ricardo José Alconada Magliano (quoted for March 3); Guillermo Federico Moretto (March 4); Jorge Oscar Del Rio (March 7); Fabian Rolando Cusini (March 8); Bernardo Zaslascky (March 9) and Marcelo Jaworski (March 10).

The round of inquiries from former Vidal officials will start on March 14 with the citation of Villegas and will continue later with the former Minister of Provincial Infrastructure Robert Giant (March 16) and the former Undersecretary of Justice of the province of Buenos Aires Adrian Grassi (March 17).

For the 21st of that month, the provincial senator is summoned john paul allan and for the 23rd the intendant of La Plata, Julius Garroof Together for Change.

The former directors of the AFI will be the last to provide an investigation: for March 25 it is summoned Dario Biorci, former chief of staff of the then deputy director of the spy center, Silvia Majdalani; while the former director of Legal Affairs of the agency Juan Sebastian Destefano is quoted for 29.
